Take part in the Energy Mini-Grant for IAP 2014!

Are you going to be here in Boston over IAP this academic year?  Great!  There is tons of stuff to do:

Go visit Fenway Park – home of the World Series 2013 Champs Boston Red Sox!

Sample some of the fine seafood options around Boston and New England, like lobster!

Or, you can take part in the MIT Energy Initiative’s (MITEI) Energy Mini-Grant program during IAP.  The program will award three grants, $500 each, for student or staff-led energy related activities to take place during IAP 2014.

The MITEI Education Office is now seeking proposals for grants which aims to support IAP programming that engages the topic of energy, while involving members of the MIT community.

Potential examples of funded activities include: a panel on specific topics of energy research, holding a recruitment event for a student organization in the energy sphere, to designing and implementing an energy-related competition.

For more information about qualifications, requirements, and other information, contact MITEI Student Activities Coordinator Ethan Feuer at!

Your  proposals should be submitted by Dec. 18th, 2013, and notification of grant allocations will be announced by Dec. 23rd, 2013.

Don’t just reward your favorite high school teacher with an apple – reward them with a nomination for MIT’s Inspirational Teacher Award.

Sophomores! Get ready to get in the lead!

Calling all sophomores – get engaged with the Community Catalyst Leadership Program!

The Student Activities Office and the Alumni Association are looking for outstanding sophomores who want to gain leadership skills while developing a mentoring relationship with an Alumni coach.

The Community Catalyst Leadership Program (CCLP) asks participants to engage in a journey of personal leadership development and reflection. Each participant is paired with an MIT alumnus/a in a coaching relationship designed to meet each student’s personal development goals. This program is open to any member of the sophomore class, regardless of prior participation in leadership opportunities at MIT.  So whether you are just starting out getting involved on campus and in student organizations, or you are the President of the Underwater Laboratory Advocacy Student Association and Secretary for the Living Poets Society, CCLP will have something for you!

Join CCLP, and instead of getting dragged back across the kitchen, you will lead your fellow MITers outside to lots of fun and success!

You can sign up and fill out your application here:

You all should definitely consider joining this great opportunity which creates a long-lasting bond between past, current, and future leaders of MIT!
