No, seriously, Pumpkin spice.

Ok, now, that I have that out of my system, I’m excited to bring you the line-up for MIT Undergraduate Association’s Fall Festival comedy show!

On Saturday, October 4th, Kumail Nanjiani and Thomas Middleditch, stars of the hit show Silicon Valley on HBO, will grace the stage of Kresge Auditorium to make you laugh, giggle, and guffaw.

Doors will open at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm.  Tickets are on sale now for MIT students for only $10!  You can purchase tickets at tickets.mit.edu.  MIT Community can buy tickets for $15 and local college students can buy for $20 starting 9/16 next week!

We can’t wait to see you at the show, but just remember to leave the Pumpkin Spice Latte at home – no food or drinks allowed in Kresge!

Fall is coming. Winter comes later.

A Leadership Experience for First-Year and Sophomore Students!

Emerging Leaders Conference can help you find out!

Emerging Leaders Conference can help you find out!

Welcome to our new First-Year students and welcome back to our Sophomores!  We hope the first week of classes has treated you well, and you are all settling in for what should be an eventful year.

Many of you may be looking to get involved, or are looking for that next step in your involvement, or are looking for an opportunity to reflect on the work you have done thus far while here at MIT.  The Student Activities Office wants to be a partner in that process with you, and offers the Emerging Leaders Conference as an exclusive opportunity for first-year and sophomore students to learn more about leadership, their own personal style of leadership, and where that can take them here at MIT and beyond!

The Conference takes place at the Endicott House from September 27th-28th, with transportation to this great off-campus retreat location provided.

Interested students can register to attend here: http://studentlife.mit.edu/sao/leadership/elc, but only the first 30 who apply will be accepted – after that, folks will be placed on a wait-list, so register soon!

The SAO wants to be sure you have every opportunity to excel, grow, and challenge yourself both inside and outside the classroom, lab, or dorm during your time here at MIT, and the Emerging Leaders Conference is a great first step on that path!

Welcome Back!

Hey there MIT!

Welcome to the 2014-2015 Academic Year!  Welcome to our first year students, and welcome back to our Class of 2015!  And, hey there awesome grad students, we hope the research and the classes and the having a Bachelor’s Degree are going well!

So, it may be September, but it is still…

out there, so stay hydrated… or just stay in the AC in W20.

Once you choose your classes, make sure you are taking care of yourself, because if you aren’t taking care of yourself, you can’t take care of your studies.

This is how we start our day in SAO everyday.

Please try and get some sleep ya’ll.

Try to… uh… eat healthy. That’s a key. Good food=brain powerrrrrr!

Make sure you catch up with friends to catch all the good stories and gossip from this past summer…

We hope you got to play lots of beach volleyball…

Or maybe you got a lot of rounds on the golf course in!

…and finally,

get to class!

No. Nooooo. Bad Ferris Bueller, baaaaad.

No… srsly… go to class you all.

Welcome and Welcome Back everyone from the Student Activities Office!
