Time for Emerging Leaders Conference!

Welcome to the Class of 2019 and welcome back to the Class of 2018!

Hopefully you had a great summer, and your first couple of days this semester have been smooth and fun.

How many PSets do you have?  Hopefully not too many.

Are you doing anything cool this weekend?  That does sound fun!

Well, whether you have fun things to do or nothing to do this weekend, if you are a first-year or a sophomore, you absolutely should look at submitting an application for the Emerging Leaders Conference!

Happening Sept. 25-26 out at the Endicott House (MIT’s private conference center with AMAZINGGGGGGG food and hospitality), Emerging Leaders Conference is a chance to explore what leadership means to you and to develop an understanding of what opportunities exist at MIT to help you develop your leadership skills!

There is cake… at the Endicott House. Yummy food is icing on the leadership cake during Emerging Leaders Conference!

Learn more about the program here, and if you have any questions, feel free to email Elizabeth Thompson, our new Assistant Director for Leadership Programs (who you’ll meet next week!), for more info at erthomps@mit.edu!

Did we mention ELC is free?!?!

Apply by 9/14 – Monday!

A Leadership Experience for First-Year and Sophomore Students!

Emerging Leaders Conference can help you find out!

Emerging Leaders Conference can help you find out!

Welcome to our new First-Year students and welcome back to our Sophomores!  We hope the first week of classes has treated you well, and you are all settling in for what should be an eventful year.

Many of you may be looking to get involved, or are looking for that next step in your involvement, or are looking for an opportunity to reflect on the work you have done thus far while here at MIT.  The Student Activities Office wants to be a partner in that process with you, and offers the Emerging Leaders Conference as an exclusive opportunity for first-year and sophomore students to learn more about leadership, their own personal style of leadership, and where that can take them here at MIT and beyond!

The Conference takes place at the Endicott House from September 27th-28th, with transportation to this great off-campus retreat location provided.

Interested students can register to attend here: http://studentlife.mit.edu/sao/leadership/elc, but only the first 30 who apply will be accepted – after that, folks will be placed on a wait-list, so register soon!

The SAO wants to be sure you have every opportunity to excel, grow, and challenge yourself both inside and outside the classroom, lab, or dorm during your time here at MIT, and the Emerging Leaders Conference is a great first step on that path!
